To anyone considering a memory upgrade for their thin client.
1. Transcend has the absolute best prices on Flash ram replacement modules (could have something to do with the fact that they are the only supplier I know of). 512 approximately $20 dollars and 1 gigabyte modules are approximately $27 dollars. I have used 1 GB modules in a T5700 T5710 and T5720 and they work in all three regardless of what the specifications say about 512 MAX.
2. Replacement RAM modules can be a touchy business. some will work in some models and not others. It can be a real pain in the neck. However there is and easy way out. Don't go shopping all over eBay and get stuck with something that will not work in you model thin client.
PNY 512 MB and 1 GB Model "Optima" PC2700 will work in a T5700, T5710 and a T5720. I have personally verified this to be true. Again this flies in the face of the 512 max in the specification but non the less they will handle 1 GB. I have also seen reputable distributors selling the 512 modules for as low as $20 dollars. I have not tried this on a T5700 but a T5710 will accept a 1 GB RAM module and works just fine.
One last comment on memory size IMHO for a MagicJack machine anything beyond 512 MBs will only give you bragging rights. You will not see any measurable performance increase. And unless you just like headaches and taking aspirin think PNY for universal Thin Client compatibility.

I had a bad experience with Samsung 512MB memory that I purchased from FastMemoryMan [ebay] ... on my HP 5710 magicJack kept crashing with memory errors every 2 days. IMO the memory chip I was sold by FastMemoryMan is a factory reject due to the fact that it has no manufacturing stamps -- so its very important when purchasing memory you must make sure that the chip does have a factory mark stamped on the chip. I can not be bothered to send the chip back cause its not worth the time or effor nor will I ever buy memory agin from FastMemoryMan on ebay.

Dave, Along the same lines I am working with a fellow that purchased at a very good price a T5700 512/256 And a 512 DDR SODIMM with SAMSUNG stamped on it. The T5700 only had 256/256. The RAM chip would not work either. And it would cost him 9 dollars to return the 9 dollar chip => trash can. I have also been made aware (possible not true but I think it is) that Samsung and others sell their grade-outs in BULK with the stipulation that they are not to be sold as Samsung and that the Samsung name is to be removed. I don't know if Samsung really cares if their instructions are followed, but I will personally guarantee you that that poor guy in China (wherever) that is just trying to keep rice on the table does not care and will sell it as "Bulk New" which means he claims it is new but it does not come in Samsung packing - How convenient. You and I both know that they use and acid based etching ink to put the labeling on chips. You can only remove it with a Dremel Grinding tool or more acid. My conclusion to all this is: 1. Yup you guessed it "If it sounds too good to be true ... " 2. If you don't buy from a reputable dealer than at least have the foresight to buy a 500 count bottle of aspirin. PS - PNY SODIMMs cost a little more as a general rule but I have yet to have one fail in any T5000 model thin client. Now unless you have a stomach made of cast iron there is something to be said for "It just works" !!!

George, I installed the PNY SODIMM and am very pleased with how it performs on my HP 5710. Thank you for recommending this brand.

George, Can you recommend anybody reputable and knowledgeable who is selling pre-configured Thin Clients dedicated for MJ? I heard you did not do it any more. Thanks,
