Today on my way to lunch I passed a homeless guy with a sign that read "Vote Obama I need the money." I laughed. During lunch I asked my server who she was voting for. She reluctantly told me "Obama" and indicated she did not want to go into details or end up in an argument. When the bill came I decided not to tip the server and explained to her that I was exploring The Obama Redistribution of Wealth Plan. She stood there in disbelief while I told her that I was going to give her tip to someone who I deemed more in need- -the homeless guy outside. The server angrily stormed off. I went outside, gave the homeless guy $10 and told him to thank the server inside as I had decided he could use the money more. My Redistribution of Wealth experiment taught me something: The homeless guy was happy to get money he did not earn, and the waitress was pretty angry that I gave away the money she did earn to someone she didn't even know, simply because I decided that he needed it more. I guess redistribution of wealth is an easier thing to swallow in concept than in practical application.

Mike , Did you happen to notice the news coverage of the republican way to redistribute the wealth? Get a government bail out and then have GoldmanSaks (sp) use millions of it for year end bonuses for having wiped out my 401k. Also merrill Lynch and others. Year end employee bonuses of 200K each. What the hey?
